Castel di Tora, just over an hour from Rome on the autostrada, is a world away. Perched on a hill above Lake Turano, the village commands a stunning view of the lake’s clear waters. Castel di Tora was the starting point for our walk on the Cammino di San Benedetto, one of the recently launched Italian Wonder Ways. Help Norcia rebuild
The Way of Saint Benedict begins in Norcia, Umbria, the birthplace of the saint in the fifth century. The hilltop town is in ruins after the earthquakes of August and October 2016, but the Association of Friends of the Way of St. Benedict invites donations toward to rebuild the pilgrims’ Hostel Capisterium, irreparably damaged in the quakes.
